A nonprofit legal center serving Westchester and Putnam Counties, PWJC helps people navigate the authorized system and procure services related to divorce, custody, help, financial exploitation, public benefits, and housing. Through outreach events and training programs we elevate awareness, educate the neighborhood, and train judges, cops, attorneys, and social service suppliers on best practices when working with victims of abuse. The Department will assess whether assumption of federal legal jurisdiction will make the tribal community safer. In making this determination, the Department will contemplate, amongst other issues, whether or not or not granting the request will increase the legislation enforcement, judicial, and/or corrections assets obtainable to the tribe. BJS maintains several nationwide information collections, overlaying federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies and particular subjects in law enforcement.
